Brittany Pray, MSW

Social Learning Coach

Brittany Pray is a Social Learning Coach at Frankenberger Associates. She is a licensed Social Worker passionate about teaching students social learning, social communication, and self-advocacy skills to make and sustain friendships. Brittany takes great pride in empowering students to discover the inner confidence they need to achieve their goals and to create success in many aspects of their lives.

She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and earned both her Bachelor of Science in Social Work, and Master of Science in Social Work degrees, through the College of Social Work. Brittany has been practicing in the social services field for more than 10 years, as a social worker and social learning coach, serving diverse populations including children, adolescents, young adults, refugees, and veterans.

She has experience providing mental health services and has partnered with school staff and administrators to provide collaborative care to address the needs of her students. Brittany is also a Behavior Support Clinician. She provided Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and adolescents to increase functional communication skills, promote appropriate self-regulation, and decrease interfering behaviors.

Her greatest joy is working alongside clients and their family members and witnessing how not only their progress evolves, but also seeing improvements within their relationship dynamics and support towards one another. “It is so impactful to see when skills become naturalistic, and everyone can join together to reflect and celebrate the hard work and efforts that have been demonstrated.”

Brittany is a former army brat and spent her childhood and adolescence growing up in various parts of the world, therefore she is very intentional about spending time with her family. She is proud to be a Mom to her precious little boy and loves seeing the world through his eyes. Brittany enjoys traveling, trying diverse food, and meeting new people. She is also a Kentucky sports fanatic, although cheers for Auburn football due to her husband working for the team.

working with Brittany

My son’s work with Brittany was definitely beneficial and he learned stress relief techniques, taking another’s perspective - especially understanding how others perceive him , how to continue a conversation and setting up a group outing as well as working on job skills, interviewing and his resume. Brittany took the time to meet him where he was and quickly got to know him. It was encouraging to see how quickly he felt comfortable with her and felt free to open up with her about his strengths and where he needed help. I hope he will jump back in for some sessions with her in the future.

Brittany was a great coach/mentor. My son grew tremendously working with her. He has more confidence going into social situations and sets up times to hang out with his friends.

My college kid just finished his second 10-week session with Brittany and we are very happy with the outcomes. The first round of sessions was more social skills and PEERS related and the second included topics he helped choose such as: work relationships, time management, interview prep, work/life balance, etc. Brittany was quick to understand his needs and how best to work with him. Both of us saw differences in how he handled social encounters and his time. This semester is a stressful one and he needs to fully concentrate on his studies, but I feel he will most likely want to work with Brittany again in the future to learn and apply new skills and ways of approaching work, school and relationships.

One thing I very much liked as a parent were the check ins Brittany had with me every 2 weeks. She was able to give me an overview of what occurred in the last session and I could share my observations, concerns or questions.

My fifteen year old just completed his first session with Brittany. He has become more confident in social situations, and he has grown considerably in his ability to initiate and maintain conversations. This program is a gift that will continue giving. It is well-worth the investment.
