Hallie Cohen, CALT, SLDI

Academic Language & Dyslexia Practitioner

Hallie is the Department Chair of the Language and Literacy Department at the Greenwood School in Putney, VT. Her expertise in structured language literacy is borne out of many years of trainings to reach the therapist level and over thirty years of teaching. Hallie is a diagnostician who has exquisite knowledge of the reading process and teaches students to love the art of reading.

Hallie’s certifications include: Certified Academic Language Therapist through ALTA, Academic Language Therapist Association and the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council IMSLEC; Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist through the Center for Effective Reading Institute; Advanced Orton Gillingham training through Mayerson Academy, Mt. St. Joseph; Orton Gillingham trained through the Children’s Dyslexia Center. She attended the Ohio State University, State University of Binghamton, NY, and Ithaca College, NY, receiving degrees in Music Performance and Education.

Hallie had a career as a violinist who freelanced with orchestras and chamber music groups throughout the United States. She currently lives in New Hampshire and is a virtual tutor/coach for Frankenberger Associates.
