Kristen Laurito, M.Ed.

Social Learning Coach

Kristen Laurito is a Social Learning Coach at Frankenberger Associates Learning Solutions Center. She is a dedicated learning specialist with a background in developing behavioral intervention plans and helping children, adolescents, and adults achieve their academic, social, and career goals. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is celebrating the social and academic achievements of her students as they progress through high school, and complete four-year degree programs, after having been told they could never attend college because of their challenges and/or disabilities.

Kristen earned her B.A. in Social Work and M.A. in Special Education from DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. During her time as a Therapeutic Case Manager, she conducted social skills groups and provided individualized social learning programs to students. In this role, she also used her knowledge of educational testing to create behavioral support plans for students and assisted faculty in understanding the impacts of a diagnosis on classroom academic performance. Kristen completed intensive training with the Crises Management Institute of Colorado, where she acquired trauma intervention training which she has used to assist many school districts in the aftermath of tragedies.

As a Behavior Specialist, Kristen has worked within the home, school, and community environments assisting students of all ages with their social emotional, and executive functioning skills. She has modeled strategies for both elementary classroom teachers and parents of young children, exuding confidence while supporting families and professionals with the student’s behavioral and social learning skills. Within the public and private school communities she has provided professional development and modeled strategies for educators to implement within the classroom setting to foster social and academic success for all students.

As a current Learning Specialist at Lehigh Carbon Community College, Kristen assists high school and young adult students with disabilities on their road to achieving college degrees. The focus of her work includes teaching social learning skills, executive functioning skills, and study strategies and facilitating opportunities for her students to engage in social activities on campus. Kristen strives to build on her students’ strengths so that they can continue to move forward in their social development and academic work.

During her free time, Kristen enjoys playing with her two dogs, Shadow and Lola, crafting, walking, and exploring the wonders of the beautiful east coast.
